Mrs Jayaratne was one of the outstanding teachers at St Anthony’s Girls’ College, Kandy. She worked as the British Council school ambassador and is a UK validated British Council trainer. Mrs Jayaratne added colour to the programme “English as a life skill”, by performing as the master trainer. She also served as the master trainer of English, lead master trainer at the Ministry of Education, and as the Global Master trainer at Aflatoun International, Netherlands.

She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English, PGDE, MA in Linguistics, PGDE in Child Rights at the University of Lund, Sweden, which are some of her qualifications. Mrs Jayaratne also followed a Diploma in Material writing, University of Warwick, UK; Diploma in Global Teacher Education, University of Colombo; and a Diploma in Child Rights and Classroom Management, University of Helsinki, Finland.
